A cuboid has total surface area of 50 m2 and lateral surface area as 30 m2. Find the area of its base.
Given: TSA of cuboid = 50 m2
CSA of cuboid = 30 m2
To find: Area of base
Formula Used:
CSA = 2(bh +lh)
TSA = 2(lb + bh +lh)
Solution:
As lateral surface area is same as curved surface area,
According to the question,
2(l × h + b × h) = 30
2(l × b) + 2(l × h + b × h) = 50
= 2(l × b) + 30 = 50
=2(l × b) = 50-30
=20
= l × b=20/2
=10
So,
Area of base = l × b=10 m2
