Mention three ways in which colonialism affected the lives of the pastoralists in India.

Under colonial rule, the lives of the pastoralists in India changed dramatically. The following points state effect of colonial rule on pastoralists

(i) The grazing grounds of pastoralists reduced.

(ii) Their movement was regulated and they had to pay taxes equivalent to cattle per head.

(iii) Their agricultural stock declined and their trades and crafts were adversely affected.
