The main chain consists 5 carbon atoms, so there is a ‘pent’ in the name. As the double bond is given higher priority than the substituent –Cl group so, naming would start from the left end only. Also we can see that the –Cl group is on the 4th carbon atom (as we are naming from the left end). So, we start with 4-chloro and also there is a double bond shared between 1st and 2nd Carbon atom, thus, the name ends with 1-ene or simply -ene.


The IUPAC name stands as 4-chloropent-1-ene or simply 4-chloropentene.
