Movement by Bhartiya Kisan Union was a hugely successful movement as they managed to get many of their economic demands accepted. Some factors that made the movement by BKU successful were –
• Most of the members belonged to a single community and they used caste panchayats of these communities to bring them together over similar economic goals.
• They could sustain themselves for a long time because of the clan networks among its members.
• Funds, resources and activities of movement ran by BKU were mobilised through these clan networks.
• Members of BKU grew cash crops like sugar for the market and due to that, had political bargaining powers that helped them in their cause.
• They organized massive rallies and demonstrations and were able to influence politics due to the strength of their sheer numbers.
