Do you justify the attack on Iraq in the name of ‘attack on terrorism’?

No, the attack on Iraq by the United States in the name under ‘attack on terrorism’ cannot be rationalized.

The two arguments supporting the statement are as follows:

(i) On March 19, 2003, the United States launched its invasions of Iraq under the name of ‘Operation Iraqi Freedom’. Above forty other nations joined the United States-led coalition of the willing after the United Nations refused to provide its mandate to its invasion. The purpose of such invasion was preventing Iraq from developing Weapons of Mass Destruction. As there was no unearthing of evidence of such terrorism or weapons, it is speculated that that invasion was motivated by other aims.

(ii) The invasion was also motivated with the aim of controlling Iraqi oil fields while installing a United States-friendly regime within Iraq.
