Describe the teachings of the Buddha.


The teachings of the Buddha are explained below:


A. The world is transient and constantly changing.


B. It is soulless because there is nothing permanent or eternal in it.


c. Within this transient world, sorrow is intrinsic to human existence.


d. It is by following the path of moderation between severe penance and self-indulgence that humans can rise above these worldly troubles.


e. In the earliest forms of Buddhism whether or not God existed was irrelevant.


f. The social world is the creation of humans rather than of divine origin.


g. The Kings were advised to be human and ethical.


h. The individual effort was expected to transform social relations.


i. Individual agency and righteous actions are a means to escape from the cycle of rebirth and attain self-realization.


j. It will not only extinguish the ego and desire but will also bring an end to the cycle of suffering for those who renounced the world.


k. According to the Buddhist tradition, his last words to his followers were 'Be a lamp onto yourself as all of you must work out your own liberation'


l. Some stories suggest that Buddha had miraculous powers.


m. Some stories suggest that he tried to convince people through reason and Persuasion rather than the display of supernatural power.


n. The five ways through which a master can look after his servants and employees were:


i. By assigning them to work according to their strength.


ii. By tending them in sickness.


iii. By sharing delicacies with them.


iv. By supplying them with food and wages.


v. By granting leaves on time.


o. He also instructed on how to behave with parents, teachers, and wife.
