An organic compound (A) having molecular formula C6H6O gives a characteristic colour with aq. FeCl3 solution. When (A) is treated with CO2 and NaOH at 400 K under pressure, (B) is obtained. The compound (B) on acidification gives compound (C) which reacts with acetyl chloride to form (D) which is a popular pain killer. Write the structures of A, B, C and D.

As A gives characteristic colour with FeCl3 it is phenol C 6H5OH which on reaction with CO2 and NaOH at 400 K under pressure yields (B) sodium salicylate ion which on acidification produces (C) salicyaldehyde which reacts with acetyl chloride to give (D) aspirin which is a famous painkiller.
