An MLA is a member of the Legislative Assembly who is elected from a constituency. The member of Legislative Assembly represents the interest of the people of their constituency in the legislative assembly.

In a democracy, each state is divided into different constituencies, then from each constituency people elect their representatives who is known as MLA.
