The following velocity-time graph shows the motion of a cyclist. Find (i) its acceleration, (ii) its velocity and (iii) the distance covered by the cyclist in 15 seconds.
(i) The slope of velocity time graph gives acceleration, here the slope is zero (horizontal line) thus the acceleration of cyclist is zero.
(ii) Velocity of cyclist is given by y axis i.e. 20 m/s.
(iii) The area under the curve will give distance covered. Thus, the distance covered for time 15sec and velocity 20m/s = (20-0) × (15-0)
= 300m
