If there is low rainfall in a village throughout the year the following measures should be taken by the farmer-

a) He should use drought resistant and early maturing varieties of crops.

b) Large amount of humus and organic manure should be added to enrich the soil so that water holding capacity can be increased.

c) Farmers should conserve water through water harvesting so that it can be used later.
