If a person takes concentrated solution of salt. After sometime, he starts vomiting. What is the phenomenon responsible for such situation? Explain.

Concentrated salt solution is a hypertonic solution. It causes irritation and dehydration in the wall of the alimentary canal due to exosmosis. There is uncomfortable stretching which reverses the movement of food and hence the vomiting occurs.

Note: The passage of a fluid through a semipermeable membrane toward a solution of lower concentration
