New species may be formed if

(i) DNA undergoes significant changes in germ cells


(ii) chromosome number changes in the gamete


(iii) chromosome number remains the same


(iv) mating does not take place


New species are formed if there is change in the number of chromosome in gametes as well as if there is change in DNA present in germ cells because germ cells participate in sexual reproduction to produce offsprings.
