If the numbers (2n – 1), (3n + 2) and (6n – 1) are in AP, find the value of n and the numbers.
Since, the terms are in an AP, therefore
(3n + 2) - (2n - 1) = (6n - 1) - (3n + 2)
⇒ n + 3 = 3n - 3
⇒ 2n = 6
⇒ n = 3
∴ n= 3, and hence the numbers are 5, 11, 17.
