Solve each of the following systems of equations by using the method of cross multiplication:
7x – 2y = 3, 22x – 3y = 16.
We have,
7x – 2y – 3 = 0 …(i)
22x – 3y – 16 = 0 …(ii)
From equation (i), we get a1 = 7, b1 = - 2 and c1 = - 3
And from equation (ii), we get a2 = 22, b2 = - 3 and c2 = - 16
Using cross multiplication,

⇒ x = 1 and y = 2
Thus, x = 1, y = 2
