Given: Height of the frustum of a cone: 16 cm
Diameters of the Circular ends: 40cm and 16 cm.
Radius of the Circular ends: = 20cm and
= 8cm
Here slant height h can be found by using Pythagoras theorem.
∴ s2 = h2 + (R-r)2 (here R is 20cm and r is 8cm)
⇒ s2 = 162 + (20—8)2
⇒ s2 = 162 + (12)2
⇒ s2 = 256 + 144
⇒ s2 = 400
⇒ s = √400 = 20
∴ Slant height 0f the Frustum is 20cm
