Given: Side of the square ABCD = 14 cm.
Diameter of the semi-circle = 14 cm
∴ Radius of the semi-circle = 7 cm
To find Perimeter of the shaded region.
Now, Perimeter of the shaded region = Length of the
curve CPD + Length of the curve APB + AD + BC
Now, Length of the curve CPD + Length of the curve APB
= Circumference of circle of radius 7 cm
= 2πr
= 2 × 22/7 × 7
= 44 cm
∴ Perimeter of the shaded region = (44 + 14 + 14)
= 72 cm.
Thus, the perimeter of the shaded region = 72 cm.
