y = m(x − d).
If the distance is 3 units to the left of origin then d = -3
Given, slope, m = -2
∴ y = (-2) (x – (-3))
⇒ y = (-2) (x + 3)
⇒ y = -2x – 6
⇒ 2x + y + 6 = 0
Ans. The equation of the line is 2x + y + 6 = 0.
