Draw a schematic diagram of solar thermal electric energy generation.

Electricity is obtained from solar thermal power plants through the following stages –

1. Concentrators collect sunlight.

2. Absorber absorbs all the concentrated sunlight. Here the solar energy is converted into heat energy. Using this heat energy steam is generated to drive the turbine and generator.

3. The electrical energy is hence generated.
