(ii) –10

The degree of polynomial – 10 x⁰ is zero(0) because the highest power( maximum exponent) of the variable x in the given expression is zero (0).

(iii) x³ – 9x + 3x⁵

The degree of polynomial x³ – 9x + 3x⁵ is five (5) because the highest power( maximum exponent) of the variable x in the given expression is 5.

(iv) y³ (1 – y⁴)

The degree of polynomial y³ (1 – y⁴) is seven (7) because the highest power (maximum exponent) of the variable x in the given expression is 7

∵ y³ (1 – y⁴ ) = y³ – y⁷
