Differentiate between:

(i) Weather and climate.

(ii) Humidity and rainfall

(iii) Climates of polar region and tropical rain forest

(iv) Maximum and minimum temperatures of the day

(i) The day-to-day condition of the atmosphere at a place with respect to the temperature, humidity, rainfall, wind-speed, etc., is called the weather at that place. Whereas The average weather pattern taken over a long time, say 25 years, is called the climate of the place.

(ii) Humidity is the amount of water vapor in the air whereas Rainfall is the quantity of rain falling within a given area in a given time.

(iii) In the Polar Region, the climate is mostly cold and the temperature drops to -37°C whereas Climate in Tropical Rain Forests is dry and humid.

(iv) Maximum and minimum temperatures of the day are the highest temperature and the lowest temperature recorded respectively.
