The eggs of frogs do not have shells for protection, yet they are safe in the water. How?

Frogs show external fertilization, i.e. they lay unfertilized eggs in water, which get fertilized outside the body of the organism when a sperm reaches them. These eggs are protected by means of a jelly-like substance that binds these eggs together, and also provides slimy nature to help in floating of eggs.
