What will happen when carbon dioxide is compressed at room temperature, and the pressure is suddenly released?
When carbon di oxide gas is compressed at room temperature, CO2 gas gets converted directly into solid CO2 which is also known as dry ice. This dry ice is stored under high pressure. If the pressure is released suddenly and reduced to normal atmospheric pressure, its temperature rises. It starts changing into carbon dioxide gas.
Explanation: -
When pressure is released over compressed CO2 (dry ice), it sublimes to gaseous.
