Draw a triangle ABC with BC = 6 cm, AB = 5 cm and ∠ ABC = 60°. Then construct a triangle whose sides are 3/4 of the corresponding sides of the ∆ ABC.

∆ BED is the required triangle.
• STEPS OF CONSTRUCTION
1) Construct BC = 6cm

2) Construct an ∠ ABC of 60° at B. And, mark AB such that AB = 5cm

3) Join A and C to get the first ∆ ABC

4) Now, mark point D on BC such that BD = 4.5 cm i.e.
of BC. Similarly, mark E on AB such that BE = 3.75 cm i.e.
of AB

6) Join E and D to get the required ∆ BED.

(Note that ED =
of AC since ∆ BED
∆ BAC by SAS rule)
