Explain the 5 provisions of the constitutional amendment of 1992 that strengthen the third tier of government in India


The third tier of the government of India is the Panchayats and Municipality.

The 5 provisions are:


a. Regular elections are mandatory to be held in the Panchayats.


b. Seats are to be reserved for the SC and ST and backward classes.


c. One-third Seats should be reserved for women.


d. State Election Commission is created to conduct the elections.


e. The powers of revenue are shared between states and local government bodies.
