Who were the 9 navratnas with pictures in Akbar’s court?
Akbar was a great Mughal emperor. He was an epitome of religious tolerance, and he patronised art and architecture. He was a lover of music.
There were nine ministers who adorned the royal court of Akbar. They were called Navratnas.
The nine navratnas were:
a. Raja Birbal:
He was a noble who won Akbar’s appreciation for his wits.
b. Miyan Tansen:
He was the musician in Akbar’s court.
c. Abul Fazal:
He was the chief advisor in the court of Akbar. He wrote the book Akbar Nama.
d. Raja Man Singh:
He was the General in the court of Akbar.
e. Faizi:
Faizi was the poet. He was famous for his work Nal U Daman.
f. Raja Todar Mal:
He was the Finance Minister in the royal court.
g. Mullah Do Piaza:
h. Abdul Rahim Khan-I-Khana:
He excelled in Persian, Sanskrit and Hindustani.
i. Fakir Aziao-Din:
It can be noted that Akbar’s navratnas were from all religions which shows his religious tolerance.
