Give reasons for which foreign tourists visit India. (CBSE 2014)

1. Foreign tourists visit India for a variety of reasons including Heritage tourism,

Eco-tourism, Adventure tourism, Cultural tourism, Medical tourism and Business tourism.

2. The states of Rajasthan, Goa, Jammu and Kashmir and the various temple towns of South India are amongst the important tourist destinations and centers of attraction amongst the tourists.

3. Indian foods, the various historical and architectural designs and the unique handicrafts and cultural pursuits are the driving forces behind the increased levels of tourism in India.

NOTE – Foreigners are attracted towards the different kinds of unique handicrafts, historical and cultural experience varying from region to region and the availability of luxuries at a cheap price.
