Suzanne, instead of looking for love, demanded artificiality- something that acting is known for. Love should be the first criteria anyone should be looking for in a marriage, because it forms the basis of marriage. Another important criteria is good understanding that a marriage shall hold in order to survive. Suzanne, contrary to this, put her focus on getting rid of the constant courting insinuations that she had been receiving from Robichon and Quinquart, and decided to get married.
