The story is replete with humour. Bring out at least three humorous instances in the story.
The Judgement of Paris portrays the rivalry between two competent comedians of a theatre- Robichon and Quinquart to win over the actress of the theatre- Suzanne Brouette. As the story involves the dramatic turns the comedians' lives take, there are a number of comic elements that we come across throughout the plot.
The first major humour that we see is the scene where Robichon and Quinquart are seen plotting their actions and discussing about the role shifts that they would need to do in order to prove their versatility. Its funny how these already talented people fell prey to Suzanne's baseless motives and struggle to prove their worth. The second comic element we come across is the role shift of Robichon, where he and Jacques Roux mutually decide to let him impersonate Roux. The humour of the situation is seen when Robichon bribes Roux by offering double the amount of money and free advertisement, whereas in reality, he was helping himself.
The third and the greatest instance of humour is the climax of the plot, where Quinquart, disguised as Marquis de Thevenin is able to deceive Robichon successfully, and bagging the title of the greatest actor. The comedy and irony lies in the fact that while Robichon had duped and audience, Quinquart had duped Robichon himself.
