Violence to the women is of various types and can happen at any place like home, public place or office. It is the big issue related to the women which cannot be ignored as it is hindering almost one-half growth of the country.

To prevent such assault and violence government of India had set up Verma committee based on the recommendation President of India passed Criminal legal amendment act 2013. The feature of the act are:

a. 20 years of imprisonment for the culprit.

b. Appointment of women police to address the complaints from the victim.

c. There will be no punishment for the victim if the accused dies during the struggle.
