As per the formula of Sunyam Samaysamuchchaye, its third application is used –

If the numerators of two fractions in the equation are equal i.e., 5.

x + a + x + b = 0

So adding the denominators,

3x + 2 + 2x + 8 = 0

5x = -10

x = -2
