(iii) The presence of Manjula's sister could be felt everywhere although she never appears. Build Malini’s character on the basis of the comments and references.

(i) Tao Ying always tried to save money. But that day she purchased two tickets. This is because she has promised her son that she would be getting him his ticket when they will board the bus the next time. So, she just wants to keep his word. But at the same time, 20 cents was a big amount for her which she could have used elsewhere for the purchase of household stuff. But though she wants to keep her promise, she went ahead of purchasing two tickets.

(ii) The poem is about love and vision. The poet made a comparison of the vision of lovers to the light and shadow. The comparison is that the shadow is seen only on noon and light is seen only in the sun.

The idea behind this is that when the love of a person becomes mature, they started seeing each other clearly without any illusion. When the love is at its zenith only then it produces a clear vision.

(iii) Malini was a handicapped and wheelchair bound. She was a very healthy and whole person. She was a much-centred person and happy than her sister. She wrote a novel with the help of her sister’s husband but couldn’t publish it before her death. Later it was published by her sister and took the royalty. Thus, Malini though was handicapped, did a lot for her sister and was always with her at the time of her need.
