Give three reasons why the system of reserved constituencies was introduced by the constitution makers in India.

The makers of our Constitution introduced Reserved Constituencies for the weaker sections like SC and ST for several reasons like

A. To provide a fair chance to the weaker section to get elected to the Lok Sabha and State Legislative Assemblies in an open electoral competition.

B. The reservation is due to those who are influential and resourceful may prevent the weaker sections from winning the elections.
