What is ancient money?

Barter system was ancient money, when people were lived in caves , haunted animal for foods and grow different crops, started making different handcrafted items like weapon, pots etc, they exchanged their excess goods with other items, like crop was exchanged or weapon or pot or it was exchanged for different crop grown by other community.
