The nature of Political System in the early period of India:

The political scenario could be traced back to even the earliest civilization Harrapa, the remains of municipal cities, centralized hall prove that there existed a political system.

The ancient books like Vedas, Upanishads shows that in the Vedic period there were tribes which were headed by a chosen leader, their social living reflects the existence of the political system.

During Mauryans, Guptas, Cholas etc there used to be a king and there used to be a political system for the administration of their states. There used to fight for territories and power.

Hence ancient India represents a great and impressive political system.
