What is erythropoiesis? Which hormone stimulate it?

Formation of RBCs is called Erythropoisis. Erythropoitin hormone is responsible for erythropoiesis which is a glycoprotein hormone secreted by the kidney. The secretion of erythropoietin and production of RBCs is stimulated when the amount of oxygen is lower than normal.
