MTP (Medical Termination of pregnancy) or also called as Induced Abortion is the termination of pregnancy due to some medical reasons.

Around 45 to 50 millions of MTPs are performed in a year throughout World for which the Government of India imposed MTP in the year 1971 with few strict conditions to avoid its misuse. Such restrictions are important to prevent illegal female foeticide in our country.
