Kabir, a poet saint and Guru Nanak Dev, the founder of Sikhism were pioneering Bhakti saints, both of whom advocated a form of Nirguna Bhakti in their philosophies. Both of them rejected idolatry along with other trappings of the mainstream religions like sacrifices, ritual baths etc.
