A vector makes an angle of 20o and makes an angle of 110o with the X-axis. the magnitudes of these vectors are 3 m and 4 m respectively. Find the resultant.

From the figure given,


The angle between vector and is 110o -20o = 90o

The magnitude of resultant vector is given by





Let β be the angle between the resultant and the vector , then tan β= = 4/3 =53.130


Hence, the resultant makes an angle 20o+53.130= 73.130 with x-axis.
