Why was the king advised to go to magicians?

Some wise men that had come forth to answer the questions were of the opinion that some tasks could be urgent and couldn’t wait for the decision of the council and the hence the best way of reaching a decision on time was to look into the future. Thus, the king was advised to go to magicians.
