In a lottery there are 10 prizes and 25 blanks. What is the probability of getting a prize?

Total numbers of outcome in a draw of lottery are: 10 + 25= 35 being lottery Draw a prize or a blank

Let E be the event of getting a prize at draw


Then, the numbers of favourable events are= 10


∴ P (getting a prize) = P (E) = 10/35 = 2/7
