What do you think is the color of ‘sour cream’? Why do you think the poet has used this expression to describe the classroom walls?

The color ‘sour cream ‘expresses nearly white color. The poet uses this expression to express the pathetic environment, where the walls were completely vanished and were totally dusty in an appearance. Due to this ugly environment, slum children were depressed, pale and were mislay to their hopes and dreams.
