Explain the term thecodont and diphyodont.

The type of attachment in which each tooth is embedded in a socket of jawbone is called thecodont. The type of dentition in which two sets of teeth is present during a life time is called diphyodont. The two sets of teeth are a set of temporary milk or deciduous teeth, which is replaced, by a set of permanent or adult teeth.
