Q11 of 87 Page 53

Mukund possesses ₹50 more than what Sagar possesses. The product of the amount they have is 15,000. Find the amount each one has.

Let Sagar has x amount

Mukund’s amount =

⇒

Splitting the middle term we get:-

⇒ x2 - 100x + 150x - 15000 = 0

⇒ x(x - 100) + 150(x - 100)

⇒ (x - 100)(x+150)

∴ x = (-150) , 100

x = 100 as money cant be negative therefore we ignore (-150)

∴ Sagar has 100Rs and Mukund has 150Rs
