Explain two activities for the formation of artificial rainbow.

Activity 1:

● Select a wall on which the sun rays fall.

● Stand in front of the wall facing the wall.

● Hold a tube through which water is flowing.

● Try to obstruct the flow of water in such a manner such that water comes out as fountain.

● Hence rainbow is obtained when the rays of sunlight are dispersed by the water droplets

Activity 2:

● Take a metal tray & fill it with water.

● Place a mirror in the water such that it makes an angle to the water surface.

● Now focus white light on the mirror through water.

● Try to obtain colours on the white card board sheet kept above the water surface.
