How would you confirm that a colourless liquid given to you is pure water?

To check whether the colourless liquid is pure water or not; we will perform electrolysis. In the electrolysis process, electricity is passed through the liquid. If the liquid is pure water then it will break down into hydrogen(H2) and oxygen(O2) gasses and get released in air. If not then the liquid will remain in the electrolysis vessel only.
