Classify the following things into substances having Relative

Density > 1 and Relative Density < 1 Wood, iron, rubber, plastic,


glass, stone, cork, air, coal, ice, wax, paper, milk, kerosene,


groundnut oil, soap

Relative density >1 , means the substance is denser than water and will sink in water.

Relative density < 1, means the substance is less denser than water and will float on water.


We can divide these objects by their floating properties(which we saw in our daily life)


Substance having Relative density <1(Floating objects) : wood , plastic ,air ,rubber ,ice,wax,Kerosene, groundnut oil, soap.


Substance having Relative density >1(sinking objects) : iron ,glass,stone.coal ,milk,paper.
