Draw the location of polestar showing the direction from Great Bear.

If you are able to spot the great bear, look at the two stars that form the outer side of its rectangular head. Extend an imaginary line from these two stars (as shown in the figure). The pole star will be located on that extended line with a distance of about 5 times the distance between these two stars.
