Write about vulcanised rubber and its uses.

If the mixture of rubber and sulphur is heated at 373 K to 413 K temperature then the required change in the required portion can be carried out. This process is known as vulcanization. This reaction is slow and so zinc oxide is added as addition substance and so the reaction becomes fast.

Vulcanised rubber has very good elasticity, very low water absorbing property.

Uses-

(i) The vulcanised rubber is used in rubber bands.

(ii) It is used in the preparation of tubes and tyres of vehicles.
