Q17 of 51 Page 426

The solar constant at a place is 1.4 kW/m2. How much will solar energy be received at this place per second over an area of 5 m2?

Given:

Solar Constant = 1.4 kW/m2

Solution:

Solar energy received at area of 1 m2 = 1.4 kW/m2

So the energy received at an area of 5m2 = 5 × 1.4

= 7 kW/m2
