What happens when rain falls on soil without vegetation cover?

Soil without vegetation cover is like a body without immune system. Any natural or man-made activity can easily drain away the topmost region of soil thus making a barren land. Same is the case here, rain will take away most of the soil along with it thus causing soil erosion.
